Jazz musicians explored the different genres of Dixieland music and traditional African-American music which created the jazz genre. in the 1920's New Orleans style jazz which focused on larger bands dominated the entire country, but by the 1930's Chicago style with more solo improvisations. During both the 1920's and the 1930's jazz musicians were very highly respected despite the racial problems during these times. "Change is always happening.
